Daniel F. “Danny” Collins, 62, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. He was born May 2, 1948 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Frank W. “Squeak” and Louise Fagnano Collins. Mr. Collins had owed Collins Appliance Store in Hillsboro since 1985, a business that has been in his family since 1948 and continues today. He was a 1966 graduate of Hillsboro High School, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elk #361 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161. He is survived by his wife, Ramona Williams Collins, whom he married on February 8, 1966; two sons, Jeff (Cathy) Collins and Kevin (Tonya) Collins of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Kaitlan (Michael) Hollon, Bryan Collins, Erica (Scott) Morgan and Kevin Roark; and one great-grandson, Preston Hollon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Collins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Michael Paraniuk at 10 a.m. Monday, November 8 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Benevolent and Protective Order of Elk Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
