Dale Allen Gillenwater, 42, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

He was born May 29, 1968 to Joyce and Robert Gillenwater. He had two sisters, Mary Gillenwater and Heather Gillenwater and three brothers, Kerry Gillenwater, Michael (Ann) Gillenwater, and Leonard (Sandy) Gillenwater.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gillenwater, his brother, Kerry Gillenwater, and his nephew, Lamar Gillenwater.

Dale was the father of three daughters: Brittany Nicole Gillenwater-Sauders (Tyler Sauders) and Melanie Dawn Gillenwater (Shawn Simmons), both of which resulted from his marriage to Kristi Jean Gillenwater-Smith; and his third daughter, Adela Beth Gillenwater, the result of his union with his significant other, Amber Dawn RIley.

Dale had four special nieces and nephews, Chasity, Chase, Bailey, and Nicole, and two grandchildren, Abigail and Marley.

Dale was a 1987 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Greenfield. The Rev. Lamar Kolle will officiate. A potluck dinner will be held in the church basement immediately following the service. All are encouraged to attend.

The Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home is serving the family.
