Cheryl Irene Hopkins, 54, of Hillsboro, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Enon, Ohio.
She was born June 8, 1956 in Portsmouth, the daughter of Warney and the late Betty Irene Ridout Hopkins.
Cheryl worked as a vocational trainer for the Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Hills and Dales Training Center) for over 23 years. She was a member of the Hillsboro Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Nicole L. (Archie) Scott of Enon; three grandchildren, Moriah Scott, Archie Scott III and Tyler Scott; her father, Warney (Louise) Hopkins of Hillsboro; four sisters, Carolyn Groves, Mary (Jerry) Walker, and Mandy Boris, all of Hillsboro, and Judy (David) Boris of Clarksville; two brothers, Kenny Hopkins and Norman (Karen) Hopkins of Hillsboro; one stepsister, Donna Walker of Hillsboro; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and special friends, Mary Ann Hogan and Mary Ellen Reichart of Hillsboro.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, David O. Hopkins, and a special uncle, Norman Hopkins.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 4th at the Hillsboro Free Will Baptist Church. Pastor Richard Burns will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
