Charles Wesley Roler, 87, of East Danville, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 3, 1924 in Highland County, the son of the late Curt Wesley Roler and Maude Mae Hawk Roler.

He was a member of Union Church of Christ, where he had served as a deacon for numerous years, was a former Whiteoak Township Trustee, was a member of the Highland County Trailbreakers and Southern Ohio Draft Horse Association, and was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include two daughters, Myra Sue (Thomas J.) Flynn of East Danville and Jenny Lou Roler of East Danville; one son, Jay Wesley (Tena) Roler of Sardinia; four grandsons, Curt Wesley Roler, Jake Nathaniel Roler, Beau Daniel Roler, and Thomas Jacob (Trudy) Flynn; and a great-grandson, Jacob Austin Flynn.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Eleanor Walker Roler; two brothers, Jonny Roler and Robert Roler; and a sister, Louva Roler.

Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Taylorsville, Ohio.

Friends will be received at Edgington Funeral Home in Mowrystown on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 from 6-8 p.m.
