Charles Robert Roark, 95, formerly of Leesburg, passed away peacefully Jan. 22, 2025 at Venetian Gardens in Loveland. 

He was born the son of the late Charles and Naomi Meenach Roark on Sept. 24, 1929 in the house his Grandfather Meenach built four miles west of Portsmouth. 

Charles was in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, where during his service he met the love of his life who would become his wife, Ingeborg. He earned a bachelor of arts from Wilmington College and also a bachelor of arts degree from Owosso College. His education enabled him to work as both a teacher in many different school districts with various age groups as well as a minster and pastor to several churches. Charles treasured reading his Bible and listening to Christian music. He had a deep love for music and played several instruments including piano, accordion, trumpet and saxophone. He could often be found working outside in his garden, tending to the yard or his apple trees. 

Charles is survived by his children, Nancy (John) Holton of Goshen, Cinda (Doug) Steen of San Diego, Calif., and Charlene (Glenn) Quintana of Duanesburg, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Anne Roark of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Chris, Anita, David, Darla, Derek, Tyler and Brittany; two great-grandchildren, Piper and Cameron; and sister-in-law, Rosa Ruth Schick of Germany. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ingeborg Mittman Roark, on March 14, 2021; son, Mark Roark; siblings, Woodrow Roark, Alberta (John) Patrick, Darlene (John) Lovenguth and Charlotte (Fred) Bice; and brother-in-law, Horst Mittman. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Turner & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. For more information or to leave an online condolence for the family please visit www.turnerfuneralhomes.cc.
