Carl R. Evans, 70, of Lynchburg, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born March 16, 1940 in Highland County, the son of the late David P. Evans and Louise Thompson Burkitt of Urbana.
Carl was a lifelong farmer, had a construction business, and mowed state highways for several years.
Besides his mother, he is also survived by his wife, Dianne (Harrison) Evans; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Teresa Evans of Hillsboro and Daniel and Lisa Evans of Lynchburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Mark Leininger of Hillsboro, Jenny and Billy Mefford of Peebles, and Liberty Harrison of Lynchburg; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Bradley and Crystal McCravy of Lynchburg; two stepdaughters and stepson-in-law, Lesha Harrison of Kentucky and Casandra and Tom Lekrone of New Vienna; four brothers, Richard Evans of Urbana, David Evans of Arkansas, Steve Evans of Springfield, and Rick Evans of Hillsboro; four sisters, Paula Ball of Florida, Linda Tissott of Wilmington, Debbie Wright of Urbana, Marcia Bailey of Urbana; 20 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
