Betty Jean Beekman, 82, of Hillsboro, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at the U.C. Medical Center in Cincinnati.
She was born April 15, 1928 in Sunrise, Ky., the daughter of the late Cecil and Blanche (Struve) Price. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Price.
Betty owned and operated her own beauty salon in Indiana for many years. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hillsboro, a 50-year member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary Aerie #1161 in Hillsboro, and a member of the Highland County and Yellow Springs Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen Michael and Dylana Marcaurelle of Wister, Okla. and Christopher Rainier Marcaurelle of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Felicia Crystal Jean Marcaurelle, Joseph Marcaurelle, and Hallie Marcaurelle; and three sisters, Mildred Price of Cynthiana, Ky., Eileen Price of Covington, Ky., Naomi Swartz of Centerville.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Father Mike Paraniuk will officiate.
Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in the Saint Edward Cemetery in Cynthiana, KY.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
