Anna R. Smith, 60, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 9, 1949, at Clay Hole, Ky., the daughter of the late Bedford and Norma (Whitaker) Combs. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Stanley Combs and her mother-in-law, Carlene Woods.
Mrs. Smith attended Marshall United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Lorraine Community College, retired R.N. and a REIKI Master. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was an avid photographer.
She was the devoted wife of David Smith and the beloved mother of Denise (Mark) Scheck of Lodi, Ohio, Aimee (Joel) Eckstine of Seville, Ohio, and Tina (Jon) Gerow, of Phoenix, Ariz. Other survivors include brother-in-law Randy Woods of Hillsboro, sisters Norma Grice of Greenville, Ohio, Wilma (Ray) Liles, of Beaver Creek, Ohio, twin sister Grace (David) Burger, of Medina, Ohio, and Rhonda (Rick) Lowry of Fla.; six grandchildren, Samantha Ann and Leah Ferrell, Darian Keller, and Ashley, Alexis and Lucie Eckstine; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Zedda Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery..
