The U.S. Senate is expected to consider legislation Tuesday, Sept. 21 that could allow up to 2.1 million illegal immigrants to be given a path toward citizenship.

The Highland County Board of Elections wants to remind the citizens of Highland County that the deadline for registering to vote in the general election to be held Tuesday, Nov. 2 will be Monday, Oct. 4.

The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a three-vehicle fatal crash that claimed the life of a Lynchburg man Friday.
 According to the Post, at approximately 4:03 p.m. a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by Henry F. Stroop, 64, of Lynchburg, was traveling northbound on state Route 138 near Tolle Road. At that same time, a 1996 Saturn driven by Kevin F. Dehaas II, 21, of Hillsboro, and a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Mickey N. Berry, 23 of Sardinia, were traveling southbound on state Route 138.

The city of Hillsboro received and accepted one bid for $74,000 for the sale of the city's former safety building.
 Drew Hastings, who owns properties in the uptown area including the Bell's Opera House and the former Fifth Third Bank building, submitted the only bid. The bid submission included a check for 10 percent.
