Highland County Auditor Bill Fawley presented an estimated revenue figure of $8,818,000 for 2013 to the Highland County Board of Commissioners at their 12-12-12 board meeting Wednesday. Fawley said the budgeted income is slightly below the 2012 number, which came in at a little more than $9 million.

Hillsboro Mayor Drew Hastings has announced, effective immediately, Richard Giroux has been terminated from his position as Hillsboro Safety Service Director. Giroux is currently considering a 90-day administrative contract offered by the mayor, according to a news release from the mayor.
