VFW Post 9094 donates to Highland County Sheriff’s Office

Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 Commander Rick Wilkin presented two checks to Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera, Friday, Feb. 10 at the post.

On behalf of the VFW, Wilkin presented one $500 check for the Highland County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit and one $500 check for the Highland County Sheriff’s Office donation line item.

Sheriff Barrera thanked Wilkin and VFW Post 9094 for the two contributions.

In addition, Barrera and HCSO chief deputy Brandon Stratton thanked the VFW for the use of their banquet hall for the Sunday, Feb. 26 Highland County Sheriff’s Office awards banquet. The banquet will begin at 5 p.m. and will recognize: the officer of the year, the corrections officer of the year, the communications officer of the year and the road deputy of the year. Stratton said there will also be various achievement awards presented.
