Trump/Pence: Electoral College makes it official

President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence have received more than the 270 votes needed from the Electoral College today, as the Republican ticket is set to succeed President Barack Hussein Obama and VP Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. on Jan. 20.
In the Nov. 8 general election, the Trump/Pence ticket won 306 electoral votes.
The result was confirmed today by Electoral College voters who gathered in state capitols across the U.S. to formally vote for the next president.
All of Ohio’s 18 electors voted for Trump.
In July, Trump announced Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate in the 2016 presidential election.
Pence is a lifelong Hoosier with legal, small business and policy experience. He was elected the 50th governor of Indiana in 2012 and inaugurated Jan. 14, 2013. Prior to being elected governor, Pence represented Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District in Congress.
