Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and Ohio Department of Development Director Lisa Patt-McDaniel joined regional and business leaders in West Chester today to announce Intelligrated's expansion in three Ohio facilities that is expected to create 267 jobs and retain 537 jobs.
Intelligrated, which manufactures, installs and supports high-speed material handling systems in the logistics and retail distribution industry, is expanding its facilities in West Chester Township (Butler County), London (Madison County) and its corporate headquarters in Mason (Warren County).
"Our plan to pull Ohio out of the global recession is rooted in helping working people land the new jobs our economy is creating," Strickland said. "Supporting the industries that are creating those jobs is critical, and Intelligrated is a major contributor to Ohio's position as a world-class logistics hub.  We applaud Intelligrated for their continued innovation in manufacturing and logistics and we thank them for choosing to grow in Ohio."
The State of Ohio has offered Intelligrated business incentives that could total up to $24 million, including job creation tax credits, loans and workforce assistance. These incentives are pending state approvals.
"Intelligrated deeply appreciates Ohio's generous commitment to our company, our employees and our industry," said Chris Cole, CEO of Intelligrated. "The incentive package sends a message of the importance of retaining high quality manufacturing jobs in the state. It also underscores the strategic role of Intelligrated's world class material handling solutions to Ohio's plan of becoming the premier international gateway and logistics hub in North America.
"Intelligrated, Governor Ted Strickland, the Ohio Department of Development, our Ohio local legislators, the City of London, Madison County, the City of Mason, the Township of West Chester and the Ironworkers Shopmens Local 522 union have worked together to make this initiative possible," Cole said.
Founded in 2001, Intelligrated began in Cincinnati as a venture start-up. The company recently grew from 500 to more than 1,500 employees with its purchase of FKI Logistex operations in North and South America in June 2009.
"Ohio's targeted investments are creating strong jobs in growth industries," Patt-McDaniel said. "Intelligrated has developed a highly competitive process, making it a leader in the logistics and distribution industry, and we are proud the company has chosen to continue to invest in Ohio."
Intelligrated's customers include Dick's Sporting Goods, McGraw Hill, Big Lots, and McKesson. The company has locations in Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio and Texas, and was named Northrop Grumman Supplier of the Year 2008, and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2008.
