The Highland County Republican Women's Club met at noon Monday for a summer luncheon, that featured discussions with elected officials on the issues on the November general election.

Held in the basement of the Highland County Administration Building, Ohio 17th District Sen. David Daniels, and Ohio 86th House District Rep. Cliff Rosenberger were in attendance. They answered questions regarding state issues, such as the budget, and Ballot Issue 2, formerly known as Senate Bill 5.

"We were so glad that there was such good attendance, and good discussion regarding Issue 2," said club president Rosemary Ryan. "We want to thank Cliff and Dave for coming and shedding light on the subject. It was a wonderful opportunity for voters and elected officials to interact, and hear one another."

Republican candidate for Hillsboro mayor, Drew Hastings, was in attendance as well.
