Pillich to speak at Democratic Women's annual dinner

The Highland County Democratic Women will hold their annual Basket Bazaar, with a carry-in dinner and auction, on Monday, May 5 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Highland County Administration Building.
Meat, drinks and table service will be provided. A silent auction will be held through the evening.
The guest speaker will be Connie Pillich, state representative of Ohio's 28th District and candidate for treasurer of state.
Rep. Pillich is serving her third term as the voice of Ohio’s 28th District. She spent eight years on active duty in the Air Force, where she earned the rank of captain and was a three-time recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal.

After her time in the Air Force and receiving her MBA, Pillich worked as a public defender and later opened her own law practice, where she challenged predatory lenders on behalf of vulnerable senior citizens.
As a state representative, Pillich has continued to support the military by introducing bipartisan legislation to connect veterans’ to their benefits and helping veterans and their families get back to work after serving their country. She has stood up for Ohio’s families by voting against a budget that slashed funding for schools and local governments. She has fought tirelessly to restore lost funding for schools, keep police and firefighters on the job and protect Ohio's workers.
The public is cordially invited to hear Pillich speak and to enjoy a lively evening of fun and food. Each attendee is urged to bring some canned goods to be donated to Samaritan Outreach.
