Pavement Marking Project Slated To Begin
Rolling Operations On Routes Throughout District
A contract has been awarded for the application of pavement markings along various district routes, and contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will begin operations early next week, according to ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James A. Brushart.
Kneisel Contracting Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $126,596.76 to apply fast-dry pavement markings to selected state and federal routes in all eight of the District 9 counties. District 9 includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.
Tentatively scheduled to begin Monday, April 5, contractors will be applying auxiliary pavement markings on routes in Lawrence County as weather permits. Although an exact county-to-county schedule has yet to be determined, it is anticipated that operations will follow in Scioto, Jackson, Pike, Ross, Highland, Adams and Brown counties, respectively.
As this will be a rolling operation, motorists should encounter lane restrictions only in the immediate work zones. Throughout the project, traffic will be maintained with the use of arrow boards and flaggers as needed.
The completion date for the entire job is June 15, 2010.
