Members of the Paint Creek EMS/Fire District Board held a contract-signing ceremony Monday, April 21 to begin construction on a new 4,580-square-foot fire station on U.S. 50 just east of S.R. 753 in Paint Township.

The board has hired Kay Construction to complete the facility.

Fred Kay, owner of Kay Construction, said the project for Paint Creek Station 2 should begin within the next two weeks.

Kay said 1,800 square feet of the station will be dedicated as living quarters. The remaining 3,500 square feet will be for equipment bays.

Representing the Paint Creek EMS/Fire District were board members Randy Mustard, Dan Mathews and Jerry Williams. Fire Chief Bradley George and Captain Adam Moran also attended the ceremony.
