OVI checkpoint planned in Brown County

GEORGETOWN – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that troopers will conduct an OVI checkpoint this week in Brown County to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The location of where it will take place will be announced on the morning of the checkpoint.

If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.

Operational support for the sobriety checkpoint will be provided by local law enforcement agencies.

If you see an impaired or reckless driver on the road, call #677 to be connected directly to the nearest Ohio State Highway Patrol post. Your call could save a life.

The Patrol is seeking driven, service-minded individuals who are ready to make a difference and remove impaired drivers from Ohio roadways. Those interested can text “joinOSHP” to (614)654-OSHP.

The Patrol also offers a ride-along program and those interested are encouraged to contact their local OSHP post to schedule a ride-along with a trooper during their shift.
