The South Central Ohio Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Team would like to invite you to a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Join us at the Fayette Bible Church gymnasium, 1315 Dayton Ave. NW in Washington Court House on April 20 at 7 p.m. to learn how the power of a simple gift, a shoebox, changed one Ohio resident’s life.

Full-circle speaker Nadia Karnatova will share her story.

A full-circle speaker is someone who received a shoebox gift through the OCC project of Samaritan’s Purse. Karnatova received one of those shoebox gifts as a girl. She will share her story and the impact that shoebox had on her life.

The following is a short, sneak peek of her story.

Karnatova grew up in Kiev, Ukraine in a large family of 11. It was difficult for her parents to find jobs as whenever companies found out they were Christians and had a large family, they did not want to hire them. But God has always provided and took care of Karnatova’s family.

One Christmas, Karnatova and all of her siblings received shoeboxes. She was around 9 years old, and remembers that day like it was yesterday because in that moment she felt God’s presence. Receiving a gift that was just for her made her feel special and like a child again.

In 2000, Karnatova’s family moved to the United States. Today, Karnatova lives in Ohio and loves to pack shoeboxes with her three children. When she packs shoeboxes, she is reminded of the Lord’s goodness and everything He has done for her and her family.

Each shoebox gift distributed is a gospel opportunity in the hands of the child who receives it.
