An Ohio Republican lawmaker is facing charges in Butler County, according to a report today by WCPO News in Cincinnati.

Retherford, 32, was booked into the Butler County Jail (see https://butler.miamivalleyjails.org/JAILBOOKING.ASPX?CJIS_OR_PARTY_ID=C4455929&JAILBOOKING_ID=26353505) on a felony count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and a misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle under the influence.
According to Columbus Monthly (http://www.columbusmonthly.com/content/stories/2016/10/mr--happy-go-lucky.html) in 2015, Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger, R-Clarksville, ordered Retherford to remove a liquor cabinet he was keeping in his office. Retherford told a reporter with the Journal-News in Butler County that he bought the cabinet from a former legislator in 2015 and was storing it in his office until he had a chance to move it to his home.
Retherford represents Ohio's 51st District, which includes the cities of Hamilton and Fairfield, Ross Township, and parts of Fairfield, Hanover and St. Clair townships. He was first elected to the office in 2012. This is his third term as state representative.
As a disabled, retired veteran, Retherford has worked on various issues pertaining to those who have served in the military. He works as a mortician’s assistant at a Hamilton funeral home, according to the Ohio House website.
