More than $6K in merchandise stolen from area business

More than $6,600 in merchandise was stolen from an area business, according to the Hillsboro Police Department. 

 

According to a report from the HPD, Ohio Valley Truss reported to the department Aug. 5 that someone broke into their shop on West Main Street and stole several Truss manufacturing items. 

 

Total value of the items is estimated at $6,650. The incident remains under investigation. 

 

On Aug. 9, the HPD received a call from C&M Recycling. They advised that some time over night to early morning someone stole two storm grates off his property. This report remains under investigation. 

 

On Aug. 9 at 4:14 p.m. the department received a call of a two-car motor vehicle accident in front of Holtfield Station. Ronnie Combs of Hillsboro had struck the left rear side of Landon Wyatt's vehicle. Wyatt was sitting stationary in the southbound lane waiting to make a left turn. Both vehicles sustained non-functional damage, and no injuries were reported. Combs was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
