Medicare hosts "Check-up Day"

The Area Agency on Aging District 7 recently received special recognition from Senator George V. Voinovich for hosting a Medicare Check-Up Day in Scioto County.

At this event the Ohio Department of Insurance's OSHIP Program staff and the Area Agency on Aging District 7's staff offered assistance for those who wanted to sign up for or change their prescription drug benefits through the Medicare Prescription Drug Program.  In addition to signing up for prescription drug programs, the "Extra Help Program," which is income based and pays for the Part D premium and eliminates the donut hole for those who meet the financial requirements was offered.
