Man injured at Hillsboro lounge

On Sunday, May 8 at 2:39 a.m., several officers of the Hillsboro Police Department assisted officers of the Highland County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol in responding to a report of an altercation outside of Christopher's Lounge at 150 West Main Street in Hillsboro.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Roger Hawkins, 43, of Lynchburg had received a severe cut to his left wrist and had been taken by friends to the Highland District Hospital for treatment. He was later transferred by ambulance to the Miami Valley Hospital for possible specialized surgery.
The preliminary investigation indicates that he was cut by a sharp object by an unknown assailant after trying to intervene in a fight between female subjects.
