Lynchburg-Clay FFA places in Top 10 in parliamentary procedure contest

The Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter recently competed in the Sub-District Parliamentary Procedure contest. The competition was held at Peebles High School.
The FFA members who competed in the contest practiced at 6:15 a.m. for several weeks to prepare for the contest. The FFA members had to learn over 20 different abilities and motions.
During the contest, the team is scored on the accuracy and correctness of their parliamentary procedure knowledge along with their ability to debate while thinking quickly on their feet. The team members were also quizzed over their knowledge of parliamentary procedure.
During the sub-district contest, the team earned first place. This allowed them to compete in the District 9 contest at Ross High School in Hamilton. There, the team earned sixth place in the district.
Congratulations to the team members for their hard work and dedication to learning proper parliamentary procedure.

Lynchburg-Clay FFA job interview preparation
• The Lynchburg-Clay FFA members also learned the proper way to set up a resume and cover letter for possible employment.
Members were given the opportunity to compete in a Chapter Job Interview Contest at Lynchburg-Clay High School.
Fifteen FFA members chose to challenge themselves by stepping out of their comfort zone and partaking in the contest. The members were: Division I: Jeremy Bingaman, Kurt Hamilton, Ryan Hornschemeier, Brianne Klickner, Avalon Rich and Kara Williams; Division II: Kelsey Arnett, Katie Kirk, Madison Lake and Elizabeth Zaremba; Division III: Makayla Creed and Eli Hollingsworth; Division IV: Lucas Brown; and Division V: Carly Bingaman.
During the contest, the members applied for an agriculture job by submitting their cover letter and resume. Members were required to complete a job application, participate in a one-on-one interview with a prospective employer, and compose a follow-up letter.
The following members advanced to the Sub-District contest: Bri Klickner, Kara Williams, Kelsey Arnett, Elizabeth Zaremba, Makayla Creed, Eli Hollingsworth, Lucas Brown, and Carly Bingaman.
The Sub-District contest was at McClain High School. The results of the Sub-District contest were: Brianna Klickner, fourth; Kara Williams, ninth; Kelsey Arnett, second; Elizabeth Zaremeba, sixth; Makayla Creed, first; Eli Hollingsworth, fifth; Lucas Brown, fifth; and Carly Bingaman, first.
Kelsey, Makayla, and Carly earned the honor of advancing to the District 9 contest.
FFA members who advanced from the sub-district contest competed at the District 9 contest that was held at Hillsboro High School.
The results from the district contest were: Kelsey Arnett, sixth; Makayla Creed, second; and Carly Bingaman, third.
