Large crowds enjoy opening weekend at Highland County Fair

Picture-perfect weather greeted visitors and participants on opening day at the 2016 Highland County Fair, with sunny skies and temperatures around 80 degrees.

A large crowd turned out for the Saturday afternoon MotoCross competition and fair-goers enjoyed many of the popular events and attractions.

The dog obedience and rally also was held Saturday with a number of spectators on hand.

Musical entertainment later this week includes:

• Blue Steel, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7.

• Patrick Roush, 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.

• Adams Voice, 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.

• The Van-Dells, 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9.

The 2016 fair continues daily through Saturday, Sept. 10.
