Kasich signs TANF reimbursement for poverty services
COLUMBUS – Gov. John R. Kasich signed an Executive Order Friday authorizing the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) to reimburse allowable expenses through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program on behalf of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
TANF-allowable expenses include projects that help strengthen individuals, families, and communities, including plans on which the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is currently working.
The Executive Order allows for reimbursements up to approximately $6.5 million dollars for the entire Fiscal Year 2011, but reimbursement levels will be reduced to reflect any previous reimbursements authorized through Executive Order 2009-11S and incurred since its expiration.
Any entities receiving funds as a result of this Executive Order must comply with TANF requirements and other relevant rules, laws, or agreements.
