On Thursday, Feb. 25, an elderly female in the city of Hillsboro allegedly had a woman who was acting suspicious come to her residence in a white car. The woman stated that she was from a home health agency; however, she did not have identification, stating that she left it in the car, according to a report from the Hillsboro Police Department.
The suspect made the home owner nervous, so after the suspect left, a case worker was contacted, who followed up on the incident. An HPD detective also followed up on the incident, and the home health care agency did not send a case worker to the residence, nor do they have anyone by the name given by the suspect
employed with the agency.
It appears the suspect, described as a black female in her 30s, with a thin build, allegedly stole a check from the victim while the suspect was in the residence.
Anyone with information or recent similar incidents with someone matching this description is asked to contact Sgt. Ron Priest at the Hillsboro Police Department at 937-393-3411. Residents are reminded to ask for identification from home health care workers or any other such person that comes uninvited to their residence. If they don't possess such identification, contact the agency and verify employment and reason for their residential visit. If the person makes you uncomfortable,
contact the law enforcement agency with jurisdiction at your residence and advise them of the situation.[[In-content Ad]]
