The Hillsboro Police Department is investigating the death of a 3-month-old Hillsboro child, although foul play is not suspected.

According to the HPD, Wednesday at 3:56 p.m., the department responded with Hillsboro Fire and Rescue to a call in the 300 block of South East Street that an infant was not breathing and not responsive.

"The child was transported to the Highland District Hospital where she was pronounced dead," according to the HPD. "As of the time of this report, the cause of death has not been determined. The Highland County Coroner's Office was contacted and will be assisting the Hillsboro Police Department in this investigation."

Officer Aaron Reynolds of the HPD said, "No foul play is expected at this time, and we do not know the cause of death. When they called they said that the child was just not breathing."

The child was identified as Jasmine Ilene Deamron. She was born on April 18, 2011, to her parents, Michael and Karissa Deamron.
