Historical Society celebrates 50th year of Highland House Museum

George C. Miller (1905-70)
George C. Miller was a music educator and director in Highland County for 43 years.
Born in Brown County in 1905, he attended Wilmington College and the College of Music in Cincinnati and earned his bachelor’s degree at Ohio State.
He came to the Hillsboro City Schools District in 1931 and distinguished himself in his instrumental band work.
Miller also served as elder and choir director at Hillsboro Church of Christ for 26 years.
Miller was also a trustee for the Highland County Humane Society, and for his service, the society named its animal shelter in honor of him.
Thousands of Highland County citizens benefited from the direction and talents of George C. Miller, as he served his community well.
