Hillsboro FFA Chapter holds officer elections

The Hillsboro FFA Chapter held officer elections for the 2017-18 school year on March 23.

The election process consist of an application, popular vote, interview and a test. During the interview, there were five judges in the room to select the candidates.

The new officer team consists of: President Breanne Fender, Vice President Lana Grover, VP of Student Development Larkyn Parry, VP of Chapter Development Brittany Rhoads, VP of Community Development Grant Crum,Treasurer Kennedi Claycomb, Reporter Pyper Ross, Secretary Kirsten Harp, Advisor Jordan Williamson and Sentinel Taylor Chaney.

These 10 individuals will lead the Hillsboro FFA Chapter for the upcoming school year. The officer team is what runs the chapter, they plan all events, and make sure everything runs smoothly throughout the year. FFA Camp, Washington Leadership Conference and the summer meeting are a few of the upcoming events the officer team will be working on.

Breanne Fender and Taylor Chaney are the only two returning officers to the upcoming team. The chapter has six current officers graduating this year.

The Hillsboro FFA Chapter is extremely proud of these individuals and look forward to what this new team has to offer.
