Highland District Hospital Emergency Department expansion nears end of Phase 1

The expansion of the existing Emergency Department at Highland District Hospital is reaching the completion of its first phase.

Phase 1 of the project involves expanding the current parking lot, and building and finishing the exterior of the 4,400-square-foot addition.

Tim Parry, vice president of operations, said “The project is well under way. We expect to be in Phase 2 by the beginning of the year.”

Phase 2 will involve completely remodeling the interior of the existing Emergency Department space and joining that to the new addition.

Along with the growth of the Emergency Department, funds raised for the GreatER Care Campaign are following the same trend.

“Our generous donors have helped us raise over $830,000 toward our $1.5 million goal. We simply could not do this without them and the support of our community. We can’t thank them enough,” said Cathy Jones, Foundation director.

As the Foundation’s fundraising efforts continue through next year, please contact Cathy Jones or Brandy Luke, campaign coordinator, at (937) 393-6360 for more information about how you can contribute to the GreatER Care Campaign.
