Highland County grand jury indicts 14 in September session

A Highland County grand jury handed down indictments against 14 individuals in their Tuesday, Sept. 10 session.

• Robbie L. Munyon, 59, of Leesburg was charged with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a third-degree felony; aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a third-degree felony; and a forfeiture specification.

The indictment alleges that on or about April 15, Munyon “knowingly obtained, possessed or used,” and “knowingly prepared for shipment, shipped, transported, delivered, prepared for distribution or distributed,” meth in an amount equal to or exceeding bulk amount but less than five times bulk amount. Subject to forfeiture is $2,729 in U.S. currency … due to its instrumentality in the commission or facilitation” of the alleged offense(s), according to the indictment.

• Chenoa Dove-Jordan, 43, of Greenfield was charged with possession of a fentanyl-related compound and tampering with evidence, both third-degree felonies.

The indictment alleges that on or about March 29, Dove-Jordan “knowingly obtained, possessed or used” a fentanyl-related compound “in an amount equal to or exceeding five grams but less than 10 grams.” On the same date, it is alleged that Dove-Jordan, “did alter, destroy, conceal or remove any recorded document or thing, with purpose to impair its value or availability as evidence in [a] proceeding or investigation.”

• Billy Stone, 55, of Hillsboro was charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a third-degree felony. Stone is accused of “knowingly obtaining, possessing or using” meth in an amount equal to or exceeding bulk amount but less than five times bulk amount, on or about March 4.

• Mathew Segraves, 28, of Wilkesboro, N.C. was charged with two counts of assault on a peace officer, both fourth-degree felonies. It is alleged that on or about July 29, Segraves “did knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm” to two separate victims.

As previously reported by the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, July 29 at 10:10 p.m., the Highland County Communications Center received multiple calls of a male reportedly lying in the roadway in the 1700 block of state Route 41, in Brushcreek Township. As deputies arrived on the scene, they were encountered by a male, later identified as Segraves, wearing only underwear.

The male allegedly approached deputies in an aggressive manner. After allegedly failing to comply with officers’ commands and continuing to act in an aggressive manner, it is alleged that the suspect physically attacked both deputies.

• Brandon Stewart, 36, of Hillsboro was charged with two counts of safecracking, both fourth-degree felonies; two counts of breaking and entering, both fifth-degree felonies; attempted breaking and entering, a first-degree misdemeanor; and theft, a first-degree misdemeanor.

According to the indictment, on or about Aug. 6, Stewart allegedly “did by force, stealth or deception trespass” in an unoccupied business “with purpose to commit therein a theft offense,” and also “did knowingly enter, force an entrance into or tamper with a vault, safe or strongbox.”  

Stewart is accused of the same two crimes on Aug. 7.

On Aug. 10, Stewart is accusing of “purposely or knowingly … engaging in conduct that, if successful, would constitute or result in a violation of Section 2911.13(A) of the Revised Code, to wit: breaking and entering.”

Finally, during the period of Aug. 6-10, Stewart is accused of “knowingly obtaining or exerting control over” U.S. currency “without the consent of the owner.”

• Justin Stubbs, 46, of South Salem was charged with receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony; and aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

Stubbs is accused of “receiving, retaining or disposing” an ATV on or about May 27, while “knowing or having reasonable cause to believe said property had been obtained through the commission of a theft offense.” On the same date, it is alleged that Stubbs “knowingly obtained, possessed or used” meth.

• Tomie Showman, 41, of Washington Court House was charged with two counts of telecommunications harassment, both fifth-degree felonies.

The indictment accuses Showman of “making or causing a telecommunication to be made … with purpose to abuse, threaten or harass another person” in one charge. The other charge states that the recipient of said alleged communication “previously told the caller not to make a telecommunication to those premises or to any persons at those premises.”

• Virginia Beall, 47, of Hillsboro was charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

• Christopher Chaffin, 37, of West Union was charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

• Tara Dehaas, 32, of Hillsboro was charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

• Tammy Dietrich, 55, of Hillsboro was charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

• Dylan Downs, 25, of Clarksburg was charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

• Christopher Holt, 37, of Greenfield was charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

• Scott Knisley, 52, of Leesburg was charged with aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

An indictment is merely a charge and is not evidence of guilt.
