Greenfield man sentenced to prison for meth trafficking
A Greenfield man was sentenced recently to three years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking meth.
As previously reported, Jamie Coonrod, 54, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury in August and charged with one count each of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine and aggravated possession of methamphetamine, both second-degree felonies; and a forfeiture specification.
According to court records, Coonrod pleaded guilty Jan. 7 to the trafficking charge and the forfeiture specification, with the possession charge dismissed.
The indictment alleged that on or about June 3, 2025, Coonrod “knowingly prepared for shipment, shipped, transported, delivered, prepared for distribution or distributed,” meth “in an amount equal to or exceeding five times the bulk amount but less than 50 times the bulk amount.” It was also alleged that Coonrod “knew or had reasonable cause to believe the methamphetamine was intended for sale or resale” by himself or another individual.
During a sentencing hearing Jan. 29, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Coonrod to a mandatory three years in prison. Under the Reagan Tokes Law, Coonrod could serve up to four and a half years. He had two days of jail time credit.
A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado in Coonrod’s possession was ordered forfeited to the Greenfield Police Department “due to its instrumentality in the commission or facilitation” of the alleged offense, according to the indictment.
