The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Sunday, July 17 in Clinton County.

Debra O'Connell, 56, of Lexington, Ky., was pronounced dead by Clinton County Coroner Gary Garrison, after the 2005 Dodge Caravan she was driving crashed on I-71 Sunday afternoon.

The OSHP said its preliminary investigation indicated O'Connell drifted off the left edge of the roadway, swerved back onto the interstate, then overcompensated, and slid into the median and overturned several times.

Three passengers were transported to area hospitals.

The crash remains under investigation.[[In-content Ad]]
