Faber to run for Ohio AG in 2026
Keith Faber
Ohio state auditor Keith Faber announced Monday he plans to run for Ohio attorney general in 2026.
Faber previously served in both the Ohio House and Senate, including as president of the Senate from 2013-16. He is on his second, four-year term as state auditor and cannot run for reelection under state constitutional rules.
Faber is Ohio’s 33rd auditor of state. He served 18 years in the state Legislature.
As auditor of state, Faber has continued his work to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent appropriately and those who lie, cheat, and steal public resources are held responsible for their actions.
Since taking office in 2019, Faber has overseen the convictions of more than 100 public officials and spearheaded audits that identified billions in unemployment fraud and abuse. His administration also continues to help state and local governments work better, faster, and cheaper while improving customer service for Ohioans.
Faber earned his undergraduate degree from Oakland University and his Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. After working in the private sector, he opened his own law firm, Faber and Associates LLC.
