CHILLICOTHE – Adena Health System is pleased to welcome Family Medicine physician Jose DeJesus, DO to the Adena Health Center – Jackson.

A member of Adena’s first class (2012) of Osteopathic interns to ever train at the Health System, Dr. DeJesus is the first to sign with Adena Medical Group (AMG). His decision to join AMG upon completion of his residency speaks to Adena’s Graduate Medical Education Program, and its desire to keep talented providers who have trained in our region to continue practicing locally.

“I am from a small town; I wanted to practice in a small town, so when the opportunity came to be in Jackson it was a perfect fit,” said Dr. DeJesus. “Once I made the decision to stay with Adena, the timing was perfect that an opportunity opened in Jackson. It was like it was meant to be.”

Dr. DeJesus earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan University and went on to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he received his medical degree. Born in Puerto Rico, he moved to Buckhannon, West Virginia at an early age and entered medical school after a stint in the Army. In 2012, he completed his fourth year medical school rotation at Adena before joining the Health System’s first-ever class of physician interns.

“We are very proud of Dr. DeJesus,” said Dr. Edward Onusko, Adena’s Graduate Medical Education Director. “His commitment to the care of his patients is outstanding. We are hopeful that we will be able to continue to grow our own physicians of such a high caliber as he.”
