Crack cocaine found in Greenfield home

On Friday, July 15 at 8:50 p.m. a search warrant was executed at 633 N. Fourth St., Greenfield, and led to the discovery of illegal drugs, according to a news release from Greenfield Police Chief Tim Hester.
The warrant was obtained after citizen complaints of illegal activity and an investigation by the Greenfield Police Department and the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force. The warrant was served by officers with the Hillsboro/Greenfield Joint Special Response Team.
Upon searching the home, officers located and seized a substantial amount of suspected crack cocaine along with numerous other items of evidence and drug paraphernalia, the release stated.
The drugs were found to be divided and packaged for individual sale. The resident of the home was not present when officers arrived.
Highland County sheriff's deputies and Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins also assisted at the scene.
The seized evidence is being sent to the BCI crime lab for analysis and the case will be referred to the prosecutor's office for presentation to an upcoming session of the grand jury.[[In-content Ad]]
