'A Christmas Carol' opens at MHS WATCH THE VIDEO

On Friday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13, the McClain Drama Department will be presenting the classic tale "A Christmas Carol" at McClain High School.
This timeless story centers around Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Sam Henry. He has become a greedy businessman who is alienated from his family and friends. As his love for money grows, he becomes increasingly self-absorbed, much to the dismay of his employee Bob Cratchit, played by Joe Barnhart; his nephew Fred, played by Dylan Rhonemus; and his fiancee Belle, played by Alyssa Anderson.
Scrooge is so consumed with anger and greed that the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, played by Ryan Kline, visits him. He warns Scrooge that if he doesn't change his ways, he will be doomed to wander the earth for eternity dragging the chains he has forged in his life.
To help Scrooge see the error of his ways, three ghosts, played by Scott Balzer, Zach Matracia, and Daniel Mottie, visit him and show him events from the past, present, and future. Scrooge is so impacted by what he experiences that he is transformed into a kind soul who is loved by all.
The cost of the tickets is $5 and may be purchased at the door. There is no reserved seating. The cast of 54 students is under the direction of Loretta Flora with technical aspects being handled by Molly Linkenhoker. Show times are 7:30 each evening.
