CBS News and The Columbus Dispatch are reporting that the Ohio Statehouse will have its first full-service bar.

The bar is set to open next month within an existing cafe. The bar on the building's lower level will sell beer, wine and liquor, the report said.

According to the report, there also will be special events and what are described as "private happy hours" at the bar.

In an unrelated story, state lawmaker Robert Mecklenborg of Hamilton County was arrested on April 23 on charges of driving under the influence in Indiana.

A court date is nearing for Mecklenborg, who was charged in April with drunken driving.

The state lawmaker is due in court on July 26.[[In-content Ad]]
