The Cassner Foundation announced Monday their 2023 scholarship winners.

• Alexandra Crago, daughter of Keith Crago and Laura Wolf of Hillsboro, is graduating from Hillsboro High School. She plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University and major in psychology/forensics.

• Ryan Mau, son of Jessica Clutter, Kevin Mau and Dan Hildebrecht of Hillsboro, is graduating from Hillsboro High School. He plans to attend University of Findlay and major in pre-vet and equine management.

• Elizabeth Moberly, daughter of Robert Moberly and Sara Smalley of Lynchburg, is graduating from Lynchburg-Clay. She plans to attend University of Cincinnati and major in industrial design.

• Payton Pryor, daughter of Zach and Katie Pryor of Greenfield, is graduating from Edward Lee McClain High School. She plans to attend University of Cincinnati and major in advanced medical imaging technology.

• Caleb Vidourek, son of Brian and Mary Vidourek of Leesburg, is graduating from Fairfield Local High School. He plans to attend Case Western Reserve University and major in chemical engineering.

• Madesyn Wheaton, daughter of Mark and Melissa Wheaton of Greenfield, is graduating from McClain High School. She plans to attend Alma College and major in engineering.

The Cassner Foundation Scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin B. Cassner.

At least six $3,500 scholarships are awarded annually to Highland County high school seniors. Scholarships are renewable for a four-year period upon evidence that a 2.0 average is maintained.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, personal qualifications and stated goals and objectives.

The final applicants are interviewed by a three-person screening committee before the committee awards the scholarships.

Students can receive information about the scholarship from their school counselor.
