Bright Local Elementary School started March Nutrition Month off with a bang due to last week’s severe weather, but it ended up to be a successful, fun-filled breakfast kickoff celebration.
This year's theme is "A Healthy Breakfast Leads To Successful Learning.”
All students enjoyed breakfast and a fruit juice slushie as a special treat. They also enjoyed music during their meal played by the high school band.
Local businesses were so supportive that we have several prizes, including four bicycles to be given away to students during the month. We have set a goal for breakfast participation for the month of March, and if we reach it students will have a 5K Walk/Run as their reward.
It was an exciting event, but our goal is to make students and parents aware of the advantages of eating breakfast to be successful in the classroom.
