Armed robbery case bound over to grand jury

The case against Hillsboro man arrested in connection with an alleged armed robbery at Larry's Party Shop has been bound over for consideration by a grand jury in Highland County Common Pleas Court.
Casey Patton, 25, appeared for a status hearing in Hillsboro Municipal Court May 5 on a charge of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
According to a report by the Hillsboro Police Department, on April 20, a white male suspect, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 175 to 200 pounds, entered Larry's Party Shop on Muntz Street and allegedly displayed a large knife and demanded cash and cigarettes. Patton was later arrested in connection with the robbery.
He was arraigned in Hillsboro Municipal Court on April 25, where a bond of $50,000 was set. Carol Davis was appointed as Patton's attorney on April 27.
Patton is also serving 45 days in the Highland County Justice Center for a parole violation. According to the municipal court website, has had previous appearances on a variety of charges in Hillsboro Municipal Court each year from 2003-11.
