The Adams County Land Bank is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a total of $2,049,652 in state grants to support vital demolition and brownfield remediation projects in the county.

This funding is part of a statewide initiative aimed at revitalizing communities through the elimination of blighted structures and the remediation of contaminated properties.

The grant will cover 24 residential and commercial remediation projects, along with two brownfield remediation projects within Adams County. Projects are scheduled to begin in late-Q4 2024 and continue into 2025.

“The funds awarded to the Adams County Land Bank will significantly enhance our ability to tackle the legacy of blight in our community,” said Jenni Hupp, Executive Director of the Adams County Land Bank. “By removing these structures, we are not only improving the aesthetics of our neighborhoods but also laying the groundwork for new economic development opportunities.”

The Adams County Board of Commissioners expressed their support, stating, “This funding is a vital step towards improving the quality of life in Adams County. We are committed to supporting the Land Bank’s efforts to revitalize our community, enhance safety and create a foundation for future growth.”

The grants will facilitate the demolition of long-abandoned buildings, contributing to a cleaner, safer environment for residents and paving the way for future development opportunities. These efforts align with Governor Mike DeWine's commitment to combating blight and fostering economic growth throughout Ohio.

The Adams County Land Bank looks forward to embarking on these projects and invites community members to stay tuned for updates on the progress and impact of these initiatives.
