The 20th annual Hillsboro FFA Alumni Auction will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at United Producers Stockyards, 976 West Main Street, Hillsboro.
According to local auctioneer Brad Williams of the Rick Williams Auction Co., the annual auction has raised approximately $150,000 for scholarships over the years. Funds from this auction provide the chapter with money to assist chapter members who attend college and assist with their projects, conventions and leadership sessions.
Several members of the Rick Williams Auction Company team have received the Honorary Chapter Degree from the Hillsboro FFA. Rick and Connie Williams have also been awarded the State Honorary Chapter Degree for their work with the consignment auction.
Brad Williams thanked the many volunteers who have been involved with the Hillsboro FFA Alumni Auction over the past 20 years.
Among those Williams thanked are Keith Surber, Larry Shannon and Fred Yochum, as well as the United Producers management.
“These guys have been there since day one, as well as United Producers allowing us to use the property free of charge,” Williams said.
Other longtime volunteers are Clay Vance, Coby Vance, Kevin Surber, Rick Stegbauer, Nathan Ketch, Connie Williams, Lauren Morris, Brittany Williams, Blair Lamb, Harold Neal, Ray Campbell, Campbell Auctioneers of Ripley and Jim Seaman, as well as many others.
Among the many items for sale Saturday, Feb. 11 include: tractors, loaders, combines, bush hogs, manure spreaders, corn pickers and a variety of farm equipment and accessories. For additional information of auction items, see the Jan. 28 Highland County Press.
Breakfast and lunch will be available by the Hillsboro FFA members.
This year's auctioneers are Rick Williams, Brad Williams, Chip Yochum, Jamie Stout and others, all of whom are also longtime volunteers.
