Support Our Troops seeks help with care packages

To the editor:

Each year in the month of October, our Support Our Troops of Highland County (SOTOHC) organization begins our annual drive of soliciting sponsors for the Christmas Care Packages that we send to local Highland county troops that are currently serving overseas.

Our organization truly relies on our community's support in our efforts throughout the year, and though our nation, not to mention our own county, is going through tough economic times, we will still be able to offer your business, your business's employees and/or your family the opportunity to sponsor a complete care package for, once again, only $20. That amount will fully fill the package with things such as personal hygiene items, non-perishable foods, writing utensils, and entertainment media, as well as cover the postage to ship the care package to its intended recipient.

When you become a Care Package Sponsor, you receive full credit for it. Though we take responsibility for filling, labeling, and shipping it, you are the actual sponsor for allowing it to be done. With this, we also welcome you to contribute items that may be used for all the packages of which will be sent out, for example, writing utensils or notepads that have your business logo on them, or travel-sized personal hygiene items from your business, etc.

If you would like to help us with our Christmas Care Package campaign, please return the bottom portion of this letter, along with your contribution and business card, by Friday, November 13, 2009.
