Remember women who have served in the Armed Forces

To the editor:
After reading the HCP Community Happenings about the County Commission and VFW selling bricks for the Veterans' Memorial, I happened to wonder if people remember there were a lot of women veterans from previous wars and also young women as well as men currently serving overseas.
What a really great gift it would be to honor a grandmother or an aunt for passed service, or a brother, sister, son or daughter, niece, nephew or cousin currently serving or just returning, with a memorial brick inscribed with their name.
What a splendid way to show our service members that they have a special place in the hearts and pride of their families and community.
Sincerely,
Jim Moore
