The Leesburg Area Historical Society will host its second annual Heritage Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 8-11 a.m. The meal will be served at the Highland County North Joint Fire & Ambulance Station Community Room (200 South St., Leesburg).
On the menu are pancakes and sausage; biscuits and gravy; and beverages.
There will be a local history display with the theme of “School Days,” and everyone who went to school in the Leesburg area is invited to bring in memorabilia to put on temporary display.
Traditional and folk music will be performed by John Noftsger. Antique and vintage items will be appraised by antique experts Toy Fender and Betty Ann Walker.
While the entire event is free, donations will be gratefully accepted. The Society hopes to raise the last $3,000 needed to undertake a full exterior renovation of our 1899 train depot in the coming year.
