Lady Tigers open season with loss at Logan Elm
Tuesday evening, the McClain Lady Tigers played their first game of the 2025-26 season as they lost in non-conference action against the host Logan Elm Lady Braves by a 48-40 score.
McClain was led in scoring by Paisley Pryor with 18 points, as she finished the game with eight two-point buckets and she was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Leah Lovett totaled 11 points, as she made three two-point baskets and she was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
MHS also has eight points scored by Brie Cummins as she totaled three baskets and was 2-of-2 in her free-throw attempts. Larah Henson ended the game with three points, making a basket from the field and one free throw in one attempt.
In all, MHS totaled 15 two-point baskets and were 10-of-13 from their free-throw line.
The Nov. 25 loss saw the Lady Tigers and Lady Braves battle to a 13-11 score at the end of the first quarter with LEHS leading after eight minutes.
That first frame saw MHS have three points from Henson, while Pryor scored four points in the quarter, Cummins added two points and Lovett made two free throws in the quarter.
In the second frame Logan Elm outscored McClain, 10-8 with Pryor making three two-point baskets in the frame, and Cummins making two free throws.
With Logan Elm leading 23-29 at halftime, McClain won the third frame at 14-13, making it a 36-33 score with the home team Lady Braves still leading.
McClain’s 14-point third quarter saw Pryor make three two-point baskets, and Lovett also scored six points in the quarter with two two-point baskets and two made free throws. Cummins chipped in with a two-point basket in the frame as well.
Logan Elm kept their lead in the fourth by outscoring McClain 12-7 in the final eight minutes with the Lady Tigers having three points scored by Lovett, while Cummins and Pryor each scored two points in the quarter.
Final scoring for Logan Elm included 23 points from Kiki Ingram as she made seven two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and she was 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.
Also for LEHS, Kimmy Petty totaled 11 points with three 3-pointers, and she was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. Paylnn Wray finished with nine points, Maleah Gardner totaled four points, and Molly Miller ended the game with one point.
LEHS totals included 11 two-point buckets, six 3-pointers and they were 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.
