James R. Cloud

James R. Cloud, 63, of Lasam, Cagayan Valley, Philippines, formerly of Lynchburg, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023 at his home.

He was born May 19, 1960 in Wilmington, the son of Jerry Cloud of Leesburg and the late Janice Deininger Cloud.

Jim retired in 2022. He loved to travel worldwide and enjoyed the different cultures learning and admiring their architecture, different foods, beers, wine and just having conversations with the local people.

In addition to his father, he is survived by two sisters, Jennifer (Mike) Hengehold and Jill Cloud; one brother, Jeffrey (Lindsay) Cloud; his companion, Liza Domingo; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Roush.

Services were held Sunday, Aug. 6 in the Philippines. Burial was “On A Mountaintop” in Lasam, Cagayan Valley in the Philippines, the place Jim loved to be.
