Hillsboro Christian Academy Monday announced its 2025-26 free and reduced price meal program year policy for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Programs. The school office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.

Three area banks are sponsoring the stage for the 2025 Festival of the Bells, set for July 10-12 at the Highland County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro.

The National Junior Limousin Show & Congress has announced the top 10 competitors in this year’s National Limousin Showmanship Contest, with D’lelah Laber of Hillsboro taking ninth overall in her age group (10-13).

A Hillsboro man was sentenced this week to community control after pleading guilty in May to pandering obscenity involving a minor.

The Hillsboro City Schools Board of Education held two meetings last week, with their regular board meeting June 23 and a special meeting June 27 including numerous employment approvals, as well as agreements with the two teachers’ unions.

A Hillsboro man indicted for rape was among the 16 indictments handed down by a Highland County grand jury in their Tuesday, July 1 session.

At 19, Hillsboro High School alum Ethan Kirk graduated from Bowling Green State University with hands-on experience, a solid business and resort and attraction operations foundation and will be on the pathway to becoming an assistant general manager at Drury Hotels.

Hillsboro High School midfielder Arianna Evans qualified for regionals in St. Louis, Mo. along with her club team Kings Hammer.

A tradition like no other is back — the Tournament of Champions is returning to Shaffer Park this summer. The tournament will follow a double-elimination format, just as in years past, and promises exciting competition and community spirit.

The 2025 Festival of the Bells is less than a month away, with the committee finalizing all the plans for three days of summer fun July 10-12 at its temporary location at the Highland County Fairgrounds this year.
